This M&S Sequin Suit From The New Christmas Advert Will Be Everywhere This Party Season

If you've already begun the annual (often quite exhausting) search for your party season 'fit then look no further, because M&S has just served up a true masterclass in sequin suiting that will provide you with what might just be your best December go-to yet.

Comprising of a shirt and trouser in the perfect silvery/gold/champagne hue, the beauty of this look is - of course - in its sequins. But coming a very close second on the long list of merits is the look's versatility, as - unlike a festive dress - there are countless ways you can switch up these pieces for just about any party season occasion.

Wear the shirt tucked into your favourite black leather trousers and a sandal for a super sexy date night look, or into a silk slip skirt for a more fun, feminine look during dinner with your best friends.

You could even layer the shirt beneath your favourite knit and allow only the cuffs and collar to be seen for a slightly subtler nod to the season.

For something more casual, pair the trousers with a cute cream knit and white sneakers for a day in the office before switching into a strappy cami and heels once the work party kicks off.

It goes without saying, of course, that you save the full look for your very favourite party season invitation. You know, the one you'll inevitably take the most pictures at - because sequins head-to-toe is nothing if not grid-worthy…

Ever the experts when it comes to creating a cult, must-have item, the high street stalwart knew exactly what it was doing by launching this suit just in time for sequin season.

So much so that the look was not only front and centre in the newly-released M&S Christmas advert, but it was also the look modelled by the brand's first ever ‘virtual influencer’.

Of course, as is the way in the influencer world, she switched things up and put her own spin on things by swapping out the shirt for a a sequin jacket and t-shirt.

Named ‘Mira’ (Marks & Spencer, Influencer, Reality, Augmented), the brand announced last week that it was expanding its pool of ‘insiders’ (M&S influencers) with this virtual persona who has been developed using a combination of photography, cutting-edge CGI and computer vision.

“Through the introduction of a virtual character, M&S will be able to experiment by responding to trending conversations at pace and be agile with how and when content is captured”, explained the brand. “Creating a Virtual Influencer also gives M&S the opportunity to connect with a younger audience and build a community with a demographic that are interested in this new form of technology.”

As Anna Braithwaite, Director of Marketing for Clothing & Home, explained: “A virtual influencer means we can be more fleet of foot in live trends/conversations and opens possibilities in both the physical and virtual world in the future. I can’t wait to hear customer feedback and see where we take Mira next.”

If her choice of party season outfits is anything to go by, Mira's wardrobe is going to be one to watch.
