KVD Good Apple foundation review - See photos

Any beauty guru will tell you that when that KVD Beauty Good Apple Foundation Balm dropped, the internet broke. The unique formula quickly became a fan favourite, as users couldn't quite believe the level of coverage it gave from one simple swipe. We too were hooked, so it was only natural we were going to be just as excited for another addition to the good apple family. The KVD Beauty Good Apple Full-Coverage Serum Foundation has just launched and it promises to be as show-stopping as the balm but with extra benefits, for the girlies that love a good makeup and skincare hybrid.

This latest addition to the Good Apple line was formulated to deliver the same full coverage and weightless feel of the original balm but in a serum formula with a focus on even more hydration and comfort. It contains glycerin for an even fresher finish. It should glide onto the skin and blend seamlessly, providing a smooth and natural finish. It carries a light texture yet, it stills promises to offer buildable coverage that can conceal blemishes, dark circles, and other imperfections effectively, all without caking and settling between lines. The formula is also non-comedogenic, so it won't clog pores or cause breakouts.

I tend to be more of a tinted moisturiser girl, not because I don't like coverage, but because I hate the feel of heavy long-wearing foundations. When KVD's Good Apple Balm Foundation went viral on TikTok, I loved watching the before and after's, but the word "balm" put me off because I envisioned smothered skin.

The Good Apple Serum foundation is much more my vibe. It gives incredible full coverage, but it feels beautifully lightweight on skin and blends with ease. The finish is the right amount of glowy and fresh without feeling too sheeny and the colour range is very inclusive.

When it comes to choosing foundation, I tend to stick to options that are medium coverage and don't end up feeling too heavy or cakey on the skin. Naturally, I was intrigued about the KVD Beauty Good Apple Serum Foundation, and given the hype around the original version, I couldn't be more excited to try it out.

Upon application, it feels incredibly weightless, and yet, it managed to cover up the redness on my cheeks in one swipe. Even on its own, it sets beautifully, resulting in a natural, skin-like finish. I was also super impressed by how well it worked with the rest of my creamy makeup products – no patchiness whatsoever. And as someone who has dry skin, I appreciated how hydrating it felt throughout the day. Easily one of my new favourites this year.

As someone who's tried the KVD Good Apple foundation and wasn't a fan of it for oily skin, I was gobsmacked by this foundation. Finding one for oily skin that a) doesn't separate after 10 minutes and b) doesn't accentuate my pre-existing sheen is hard. This one had a good medium yet buildable coverage, felt matte and lightweight on my skin, and didn't drag at all when I went on with my cream bronzer and blusher. I love it and will be wearing it for the foreseeable.

This KVD Beauty Good Apple Full-Coverage Serum Foundation is special. It multi-tasks like nobody’s business and although it’s medium to lightweight, it’s buildable and you only need a small amount for strong coverage. I had grabbed the wrong shade, but because I was obsessed with the formula I used it as concealer.

I placed it on my T-zone and blended it out for a seamless finish. It was like I had no makeup on. The shade range is good and the foundation is easy to blend, making it a great choice for daily use. It stays put for a long time and does not crease or look cakey. The fact that it has short and long term skin benefits is a bonus. Expectations exceeded.

The KVD foundation had a super silky application which made it a therapeutic experience to apply. It just glided across my skin which made me love it even more. It had a full coverage finish without feeling too heavy which left me with a flawless skin effect. The colour match (T070) was absolutely gorgeous, giving me a natural glow.

The only downside is I do find the undertones a little red which does leave me a little more orange than I prefer. All in all she is a goodie, and I might just have a permanent spot in my makeup cabinet.
