I'm a self-professed mascara connoisseur. I just feel like a good mascara makes a huge difference to a full face of makeup. When this brand new Benefit mascara dropped on my desk, I was super excited, because I trust Benefit products to deliver. That ‘They’re Real Lengthening Mascara', had me on a tight grip since I was a teen, when all I wanted was length (I already had the natural curl) and not many others have come close, so my expectations are high.
My lashes have grown to a good length, thanks to my trust Revitalash growth serum. Now-a-days I want volume and fanning out. I want them to look natural and dainty but visibly full and healthy. This Fan Fest Mascara came at the perfect time. The wand is curved so it perfectly contours the eye shape, and that also means no accidental smudging, so it's ideal for ease of application – specially on bottom lashes.
The formula delivers what it promises, which is fanning out lashes, without clumping, or crumbling. You can add in the layers without leaving your lashes feeling like burn crisps and it does lengthen them a little too. Granted you're not getting spider legs out of this formula, but this is the perfect no makeup-makeup day mascara. It does the job, and it does it well.

With naturally straight lashes, I'm hard to please when it comes to mascaras. But Benefit, you've done it again. The new Fanfest formula exceeded my expectations, despite the fact it has a bristle brush as opposed to a plastic one (I know it's not very environmentally friendly but I usually prefer the latter), and I've not stopped using it since it was placed in my hands. It lifts where I need it to, doesn't clump up when I layer it on, and wears well throughout the day. Oh, and it's relatively affordable - what more could you want?

Benefit has come out with some of the best-selling mascaras nationwide in the past, so I had pretty high expectations for their latest launch. First impressions: the packaging is great. It's glossy black, and the tube has a good bit of weight which makes it feel expensive. I love the fact that the wand is curved: it helped me get right to the roots of my lashes and achieve that "fanned out" effect we all crave. But my biggest takeaway? The separation it helped me achieve between each of my lashes was SO good. Each individual lash was separated from the next which made me look so much more awake than my five hours of sleep had me feeling.

I'm always keen to try out a new, innovative mascara and the fanning effect of the Benefit Fan Fest mascara sounded like a bit of me as I love having the effect of fanned-out lashes especially in my outer corner. I enjoyed how the brush was curved which meant it could grab all of my eyelashes and fan them out really nicely. I would, however, usually opt for mascara with a bit more of a volumising effect for a bit more of an obvious enhancement. But, this is definitely going to be added to my roster for an everyday fluttery lash.

I have tried numerous mascaras over the years! A lot have been cult products that seem to work for everyone but me. To achieve the bold lash look that I love, I typically have to use two different mascaras. However, Benefits' new Fan Fest has changed the game for me with its curved brush and deep black formula. It seems to work wonders for my lashes.
I applied it to my bare lashes from root to tip and straight away saw incredible results. My eyelashes looked long and fluttery! I went in with another couple of coats (because who can just apply the one?!) And was so happy to see that it really did give the “fanning” effect it’s meant to. When applying mascara, I always wiggle it well to increase volume. I tried this technique with a new product and was pleased with the desired finish. I do think everyone’s lashes are different and therefore the key is finding the right mascara for you. But if you’re looking for something that gives a fanned voluminous look, you’ve got to give this a try!
